Scrapbook Therapy
I really think this scrapbooking therapy thing works. I spent Saturday scrapbooking with some girlfriends and I feel so much better today. I'm convinced we all need a hobby and a great group of people to share it with. That's how I make it through all of the tough times.

Cheap Therapy
When I am feeling sad or down I always try to do something to cheer myself up. A few of my favorites things are listening to Michael Jackson music (which always cheers me up), cuddling with my dog, and scrapbooking with my friends. This past Saturday was just one of those days. I needed some serious cheering up, so my darling friend Lisa Renee came to my rescue. I had such a wonderful time hanging out with her. I felt so much better after a whole day of "girlfriend therapy."

Weekend Challenge
Lately I've been feeling a little blah, like my mojo is gone. The fact that my football team lost this weekend didn't help any. I did, however, muster up enough energy to create this card for Weekend Challenge #2 on Scraps of Color. We had to create a Valentine's Card using non-traditional colors. We weren't allowed to use red, pink, purple or black. Hope you like it.

Altered Journal
I just love altered projects! I like finding new uses for old things and I get great excitement from making beautiful things out of ordinary, not so pretty things.
This year one of the things I've committed to is journaling. I've found that writing is helping me better understand my feelings. Anyway, the journals I find in the stores are not very pretty or they are way too expensive. So check this out. I found this journal in the Michael's dollar bin and I am kicking myself for not buying more. I absolutely LOVE how this turned out. I made this one for a male friend, but the possibilities are endless!

Card Creations
I had such a great time this weekend with my scrapbooking club "NYC & me". This was our first meeting of the new year and the first since our regular meeting place closed. We have so much fun together, talking and laughing, it's a miracle we ever get anything done. Amazingly though, I completed a few Valentine's Day cards. I created these as a response to the Weekend Challenge on Scraps of Color. The challenge was to create a Valentine's card using the colors Black/White and Red. Hope you like them.
Check back next weekend for challenge #2.

After Christmas Sale
I almost forgot to go to Michaels today for their sale on Cricut cartridges. But I just got back and look what I bought for $42.
Unfortunately, only 2 cartridges, but for 9.99 a piece I am pretty happy. I got tons of bling, felt Christmas stickers, paper flower brads, cards, clear stamps and board books. So cool!

Reflecting on 2010
I thought I would take some time to create a few layouts that reflect on 2010. Every year that I get to spend on this earth is a gift but sometimes the stresses of daily life can make me forget that, so before I do, I will take time to reflect on my blessings.
First up....all of my scrapbooking friends. Hope you enjoy.
Won't you reflect on your blessings from 2010? If you are not a scrapbooker I invite you to think about them, journal about them or find another way to document your blessings.
First up....all of my scrapbooking friends. Hope you enjoy.

Funny Video
Recently, a friend of mine told me that I am a person who is always happy, she said I was "happy for no reason." She went on to say that she was striving to be that too. At first I didn't really understand what she was saying, but now I do. I think that my way of handling difficult situations is to think about other things and not concentrate too much on the difficulty. What I realize is that I do not like to dwell on the difficult situations in my life. Not that I won't deal with them, but that I won't let them consume me. So for 2011 I will continue to create my own joy and strive to be "happy for no reason."
I was looking at some old videos and came across this HILARIOUS clip from last December. My kids had me try this computer game where you had to move your mouse through a maze without hitting the sides. However, as you progressed through the levels the maze got narrower and narrower until this. ENJOY!

My Word for 2011
For the last three years I've chosen a word at the beginning of the year that would represent my main focus for the new year. This year after much thought and deliberation I've chosen REBUILD. I have to say that I thought about going with renew or restore, but after checking with Mr. Webster I decided they wouldn't work. You see those words seemed to refer to getting something back to its former state, returning to the way things were. This year I have a lot of things to work on in my emotional and spiritual journey. For me that means being much stronger than I ever was and probably stronger than I can imagine at this time. So I don't want to go back to the way I was, as much as I want to be so much more. Here is a layout I did about my word for 2011.
If you've never chosen a word to represent your goals for the new year I invite you to try it this year. What's your word for 2011? Leave me a comment.
