Summer CHA 2011

I am happy to be back home from a great week in the Chicago area. I was in Rosemont for the CHA Summer Show. I had a great time with my friend Joy and a few of the SOC Design Team Members. I was personally a little disappointed with the give aways this year, it seems as though the economy may be impacting the big craft manufacturers. Not to worry, though, I still had a great time. I am rejuvenated and ready to get back to some serious crafting. I found lots of inspiration and ideas that I hope to incorporate into a few projects that I of course will share with you here.

Here's a funny picture I took at the Smash display from K&Company. They created a fun backdrop and had a supply of props for you to play dress up. I love this idea! I will have to incorporate this into my next party or barbecue.

Fish Market

My NYC Photo Adventure continues with a couple of photos from my visit to a fish market in Harlem.

This photo adventure was so much fun! I have to thank my beautiful Mom for hanging out with me even though she was tired from all of the walking. Love Ya.

I sure hope you try this in your hometown or where ever you call home now.

Later.

Mr. Softee

Nothing says summer in NYC like the Mister Softee Ice Cream truck. That recognizable tune that they play brings back such great memories from my childhood. Here is another photo from the NYC adventure.

Enjoy!

Oblivious

Many who follow me know that I love photography, as a matter of fact, I would like to be a photographer in my next career. This past weekend I went on a photo adventure in NYC, so over the next few days I want to share a few shots. My local newspaper runs a monthly photography contest based on different themes. This photo is my submission to the current theme - "Urban Decay".

I took this shot in Harlem and thought it showed how folks seem oblivious to the run down buildings around them. As he should, this little boy is enjoying his day, with no care in the world.

Thanks for visiting.

So Grateful

I am so grateful for a wonderful weekend. I was in the "Boogie Down" hanging with my mom. We went on what I like to call a photography adventure. I wanted to take some pictures of urban settings so we went to Harlem and had a wonderful time walking around and shopping. Also, my cousin had us over for a BBQ, so we chilled over there for a while on Friday evening. I had a great time visiting with my cousins and my uncle. Thanks Tata....you are a great host. Love ya.

Awesome Weekend

I spent this past weekend with a great group of ladies. We scrapbooked at the Girls Night Inn Crop House to celebrate Miss Kat Blue's upcoming birthday. I had a wonderful time talking, laughing, eating, a little drinking and of course scrapbooking. There is no better therapy than a weekend with the girls. I can't wait to do it again soon.
