Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Before 2011 is gone I want to share a double page layout I created with some of our many Christmas photos. We had such a wonderful Christmas just hanging out together as a family. I really hope you also had a great holiday.

Happy New Year. I'll be back in 2012!

Thankful Thursday

Last night I enjoyed some real quality time with my husband and youngest son. We exercised together, lifting weights and doing stomach exercises. It was another reminder of how blessed I am to have such a wonderful family.  On this Thankful Thursday I say Thank You Lord for my family.

Thankful Thursday

Today and everyday I am thankful for my family. Yesterday was my husband's birthday so we took him to Red Robin for dinner. It was a simple low key celebration with the family.

I love how quickly this layout came together. I used a digital kit from Weed & Wildflowers designs and a template from Yin Designs. Simple but cool.

Thanksgiving Message

On this day that we set aside to show our gratitude for all the blessings in our lives, I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. This year for me, has been one filled with many emotional ups and downs. With the grace of God, I am able to say that I landed on my feet. I am so happy to be celebrating today with my family still in tact.

Here is something I made to remind me every day to be grateful for all that I have.

Thankful Thursday

So Thankful by Camille. Paper: Crystal Wilkerson; Frame,
Staples and Overlays: Anna Aspnes (Story Focused Template #3)
Today I am so thankful that my little buddy is feeling better. Noonie's stitches were removed this week and she is healing very well. Due to the extensive muscle damage, she still walks with a  limp but in time she is expected to make a full recovery. This evening we walked only 2 blocks but I'm sure by the spring we will be back to our normal 40 minute walks. Get stronger soon my pooch, I miss my exercise partner.

Down But Not Out

Last Saturday morning my dog was attacked by a pitbull while we walked in our neighborhood. It has been a tough week for the whole family but we are so grateful that she survived and is recovering well. I created this layout about the incident.

Sistah Retreat 11

I am back from another fun-filled Sistah Retreat. As usual I had an awesome time hanging with my girls. We talked, we laughed, we danced, we ate, and we scrapbooked all weekend long. I never thought living with 14 ladies for one weekend could be so much fun, but it was all that and then some.  I feel so emotionally refreshed from this event. I love you ladies and I look forward to doing it again next year.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend. Enjoy!

The Innovator!

I have to take a moment to pay my respects to the innovator who gave us all the electronics that we didn't even know we needed. Where would I be without my mac computers, iPod, iPad or my iPhone? Thanks to Steve Jobs I don't have to think about that. His creativity and vision will be missed. Rest in Peace Mr. Jobs.

Happy Anniversary

Today is my 23rd wedding anniversary! This last year has been the most challenging year of all our 23 years of marriage and I am happy to say we SURVIVED! Yes we are still together and working hard every day to make it better.

Here is the gift I made for my husband. Lately I have been super inspired by letters and fonts. I created my own "subway art" and framed it for him to hang in his office. I really loved how it turned out. I am feeling inspired to create similar images for holidays so stay tuned for those.

Techno Kid

This weekend my 7 year old niece showed me how to set up ooVoo on my iPad2 so that I could video chat with her. She always amazes me. She walked me through every step with confidence well beyond her 7 years.

I really enjoyed spending time talking with baby girl. She always has such a joyful attitude that can brighten my day and make everything better.

I love you baby girl and I can't wait to chat with you again soon.

Smart Phone Generation

Guess who just joined the smart phone generation? YES.....me!

I hate to admit it but I have been jealous of all my friends with smart phones. They are always checking their email and going on the internet. They show off all the fancy apps and the cameras and videos....yata yata yata.  Well HA...look what I got!

I LOVE IT! Thanks hubby now I really feel like I am a part of this smart phone generation.

Busy Month

I just realized it has been about a month since I last posted...oh my! I have been so busy the last 30 days. I've been trying to get my last bit of fun in for the summer. I was in Ocean City Maryland with a friend; Panama City Beach Florida for the Military World Softball Tournament; and I survived Hurricane Irene on the East Coast. I will have to do a better job of posting more often, but I felt like I didn't have any projects to share.

Thanks to Irene I spent yesterday creating layouts for the October/November issue of Scraps of Color Magazine. So since I had some time I created something to share here.

This was us hanging out at Panama City Beach. We always have a lot of fun.

Summer CHA 2011

I am happy to be back home from a great week in the Chicago area. I was in Rosemont for the CHA Summer Show. I had a great time with my friend Joy and a few of the SOC Design Team Members. I was personally a little disappointed with the give aways this year, it seems as though the economy may be impacting the big craft manufacturers. Not to worry, though, I still had a great time. I am rejuvenated and ready to get back to some serious crafting. I found lots of inspiration and ideas that I hope to incorporate into a few projects that I of course will share with you here.

Here's a funny picture I took at the Smash display from K&Company. They created a fun backdrop and had a supply of props for you to play dress up. I love this idea! I will have to incorporate this into my next party or barbecue.

Peace Out....

Fish Market

My NYC Photo Adventure continues with a couple of photos from my visit to a fish market in Harlem.

This photo adventure was so much fun! I have to thank my beautiful Mom for hanging out with me even though she was tired from all of the walking. Love Ya.

I sure hope you try this in your hometown or where ever you call home now.

Later.

Nothing says summer in NYC like the Mister Softee Ice Cream truck. That recognizable tune that they play brings back such great memories from my childhood. Here is another photo from the NYC adventure.

Enjoy!

Oblivious

Many who follow me know that I love photography, as a matter of fact, I would like to be a photographer in my next career. This past weekend I went on a photo adventure in NYC, so over the next few days I want to share a few shots. My local newspaper runs a monthly photography contest based on different themes. This photo is my submission to the current theme - "Urban Decay".

I took this shot in Harlem and thought it showed how folks seem oblivious to the run down buildings around them. As he should, this little boy is enjoying his day, with no care in the world.

Thanks for visiting.

So Grateful

I am so grateful for a wonderful weekend. I was in the "Boogie Down" hanging with my mom. We went on what I like to call a photography adventure. I wanted to take some pictures of urban settings so we went to Harlem and had a wonderful time walking around and shopping. Also, my cousin had us over for a BBQ, so we chilled over there for a while on Friday evening. I had a great time visiting with my cousins and my uncle. Thanks Tata....you are a great host. Love ya.

Awesome Weekend

I spent this past weekend with a great group of ladies. We scrapbooked at the Girls Night Inn Crop House to celebrate Miss Kat Blue's upcoming birthday. I had a wonderful time talking, laughing, eating, a little drinking and of course scrapbooking. There is no better therapy than a weekend with the girls. I can't wait to do it again soon.

Michael Jackson R.I.P.

This being the second anniversary of the death of Michael Jackson I thought I would take a moment to honor the greatest entertainer EVER!...Michael's music has always been an important element in my life. Whenever I feel sad or lonely I need only to listen to his music to feel better.

Rest In Peace Michael.
Thank You for everything.

Wall Decal

Check out this awesome wall decal I put up in my scrapbook studio. (Actually the husband and I put it up together.) I just love the whimsical look and the awesome words - Live - Love - Laugh.

I bought this online from Dali Decals. I love the way my studio is coming together. There's nothing better than a well decorated space to get the creative juices flowing. Can't wait to show it off when it's done.

Until next time....

PROM PHOTO

Hey all. I know it's been a little while since I last posted but life has been pretty crazy around here. I thought I would share a photo today. This is my youngest with his prom date last night. She invited him to their high school prom, she is a junior and he is a sophomore. Don't they look wonderful. High School proms really bring back great memories for me. I will have to find my prom picture and do a layout with that and the pictures from my 3 son's prom pictures. That would be cool. Anyway, until next time...enjoy.

Busy Weekend

I am exhausted from this crazy busy weekend. This was the weekend of my son's high school performance of "Once Upon A Mattress".  We attended each of the three shows and enjoyed every single one of them. Oh and by the way, I drove 400 miles on Friday to make sure his Abuela (Grandmother) was here for the show. He had a solo dance that was so awesome. The entire cast and staff should be very proud. Way to go JT and PHS.

Template Tuesdays

As I get older I find myself cherishing the little things in life a lot more than I did before. A couple of weekends ago I got to spend some time with my little niece (the one that actually interacts with me). We spent the day playing video games and talking. This layout is all about our adventure to Walmart where we spent quality time talking, eating and being really silly. It was so much fun! Raven thanks for another wonderful memory, I love you very much!

No Place Like Home

Even at my current age, when life gets too heavy I just need a hug from my mommy. Thank God I still have her here to comfort me through these moments. This past weekend I went home just for that, a little mommy and me time. I found myself wanting to capture the essence of home through my camera lens so I took a bunch of pictures and created this.

I really enjoyed myself; shopping, eating and just plain old chillin'. I didn't realize I missed so many of the little things about home.

Scraps of Color Blog Hop Day 2

I am glad you're here for my second addition to the weekend blog hop. I trust you are finding plenty of inspiration from the design team. Today I have an altered project to share with you.

This is another example of how you can use digi products (especially the freebies) in your paper projects. I printed my digi sticker on cardstock to use as the finishing touch on this project.  I altered this clipboard as a daily reminder of the happy moments in my life.

Altered Wooden Clipboard by Camille. Supplies: Photos, Acrylic Paint, Mod Podge (Matte Finish),
Ribbon, Dymo Label, Cardstock, Bling, Digi Sticker (Camille at E:spire).

This is a great project to use up some of your extra photos. Here is how I did it.

I really hope you try this. Remember to leave me a comment and/or follow my blog for your chance to win a really great prize.  Come back tomorrow for another cool project.

Scraps of Color Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Scraps of Color Creative Team Blog Hop! Join us for a weekend of fun, creativity and prizes. All weekend long we will inspire you with inspiring projects and clever ideas. This is my project for today.

I created this card by cropping a portion of a digital layout I did for our premiere issue of E:spire. I think this is a really cool idea to really get the most of your digital layouts. You can resize or use just a section of a layout to create a greeting card. In this case I printed this on card stock, distressed the edges and added ribbon and bling to make a lovely card.

I will be posting a different project each day this weekend so come back again tomorrow. On Sunday evening I will draw a name for a great prize giveaway. To be entered all you have to do is leave me a comment and/or become a follower of my blog. I will give you one entry for a comment and an additional entry for following. (For my current followers...don't worry, you have earned your extra entry.)

Thanks so much for playing along. Until tomorrow.

Template Tuesdays

In this edition of Template Tuesday I grabbed a photo from the archives....ok...well maybe not exactly the archives, but I did grab a photo from 2008. This was Frankie's idea for Wacky Tacky Day at his high school. I thought I would try extracting the picture to emphasize the focal point so I have his hair extending beyond the border of the photo. Thanks to my awesome and very cool son JT, the Photoshop student, I was able to learn how to do this. Thanks for the tutoring baby.

Template Tuesdays

I have been crazy busy lately so I haven't had much to share. As soon as my life slows down a bit I will have to do better. My goal is to at least complete the Template Tuesday layout from jessicasprague.com every week. So here we go, this is JT and his best friend. We took this picture while celebrating JT's 16th birthday. Hope you like it.

I kinda like the sound of Template Tuesdays...it has a nice ring to it.  I created this layout with the latest freebie from Jessica Sprague. I just love freebies! I also love following yesterday's post with an older picture of my now sixteen year old baby. I love this template, I think I will use it again and again. Hope you like it.

Sixteen

Today I want to give a special shout out to a really cool dude....my baby JT. He is 16 years old today and as special to me as the day I brought him home. I can hardly believe my baby is sixteen years old. I can't possibly be old enough for my youngest child to be 6 TEEN! (ughhh). Where has the time gone?

This past weekend we celebrated his 16th birthday snowboarding in PA. Happy Birthday boo....I Love You.

Silly Siblings

This past weekend I had tons of fun hanging out with my girlfriends. I scrapbooked all weekend including today which was an unexpected bonus. We had a snow day so I spent the day finishing up assignments for the next issue of Scraps of Color E:spire.  I also completed another layout for Template Tuesday from Jessica Sprague, this one "Silly Siblings" is of me and my goofy little brother, being silly as usual. I love that dude!

Bye the way, the ladies over at the Template Tuesday blog highlighted one of my layouts. It is such an awesome feeling to have my layout recognized by such talented artists. Thanks ladies I really appreciate the recognition.

Template Tuesdays

Not sure if you noticed but lately I've been practicing the digital scrapbooking thing. I am focused this year on improving my skills and techniques so I just love to practice with freebies. Over at jessicasprague.com she is running a weekly event she calls Template Tuesdays. It's really cool because you get a free template every Tuesday and your encouraged to share your layout in her gallery.  The more you share the more points you get. The points are later redeemable for discounts in her store, and I just love her store. Digi scrappers should really go check it out. Here are a couple of layouts I made with this months templates.
